What's the Difference Between a Swedish Cloth and a Swedish Super Cloth? (And Why We Bothered Inventing It)

Let's start with the obvious question: isn't a dishcloth just a dishcloth?

Not anymore.

Swedish cloths have quietly taken over kitchens for good reason — they soak up roughly 20 times their own weight in liquid, they're made from biodegradable cellulose and cotton instead of a tree's worth of paper towels, and they dry fast enough to skip the swampy sponge smell entirely. One cloth can replace an embarrassing number of paper towel rolls. It's a genuinely better piece of kitchen equipment.

So why change it?

Because "better" wasn't the same as "done." A regular Swedish cloth is wonderful at wiping and soaking — but hand it a crusted-on casserole dish or last night's caramelized onions, and it taps out. You reach for a sponge. And sponges, as anyone with a nose knows, are where good hygiene goes to die.

That gap is exactly why we invented the Swedish Super Cloth.

Here's the difference. One side is the Swedish cloth you already love — fast-drying, biosafe, biodegradable, and shockingly absorbent. Flip it over, and you get something new: an ion scrub backing with silver technology. It's antibacterial by nature, gentle enough for your nonstick pans, and tough enough to take on baked-on, stuck-on, "I'll deal with it tomorrow" spots that a regular cloth simply can't touch. The weave stays open, too, so a quick rinse clears out residue instead of trapping it — no gunk hiding in the fibers.

Wash it in the washer, the dryer, or the dishwasher — your call. Wring it out and hang it up, and it dries about five hours faster than every other dish cloth we tested it against. A little rack below your faucet, or a $5 adhesive rack stuck to the side of your sink, is all it takes.
